Tapio left.
After passing a few stone chambers, he met up with another person.
It was none other than Tyrus.
“Master,” Tapio greeted him respectfully.
“How did it go?”
Tyrus had his hands behind his back.
Tapio replied, “James is a little arrogant and trusts others too easily. He lets his guard down once he trusts someone. He was still wary of Donovan but completely let his guard down with me. I managed to hit him with a sneak attack using my full strength.”
“Mhm.”
Tyrus gave a small nod and said, “It’s because he’s become one of the greatest martial artists in this world before hitting his thirties. It’s not surprising that he’d get a little full of himself and overconfident. This will teach him to be more cautious in the future.”
“Master, is there a reason you’re looking out for James?” asked Tapio.
Others may not have been aware of that, but Tapio knew everything.
The reason James could always turn the tide in dangerous situations while fighting in the Southern Plains for ten years was not that he was lucky, nor was it due to divine will. Instead, it was because a powerful person had always secretly been helping him.
For the past ten years, Tyrus had been watching out for James from the dark.
He watched him grow every single step of the way, from an insignificant soldier to an army commander.
Tapio was puzzled by why Tyrus was treating an outsider so well.
“That’s not a question you should be asking.”
“Understood.”
Tapio refrained from asking any more questions.
Meanwhile, James was still treating his injuries.
This time, Tapio taught him a valuable lesson he would never forget.
James would remember it for the rest of his life.
He used his True Heavenly Energy to suppress the Cold Energy and force it out of his body.
Although the Cold Energy from the Spiritual Palm was expelled, he was still injured. So, he took out Crucifier to further treat his injuries.
After inserting a few needles into his body, he managed to almost completely heal his injuries.
