James agreed to Tristen’s request.
His homicide charge in Hazted City would be pardoned if he won.
However, an entire city would be eradicated if he was defeated.
He was risking the lives of Earth’s humans, but he had the confidence to win.
James looked at Tristen and said calmly, “You can set the time and venue of the battle.”
Tristen replied, “Since I get to decide, how about one week later on Mount Bane?”
“Alright.” James nodded.
Then, he turned and left under everyone’s watchful gaze.
After James was gone, the smile on Tristen’s face disappeared and was replaced with a grim look. He turned around and returned to the City Lord’s Mansion. Right behind him was a cabal of powerful fighters.
Tristen sat on the highest platform in the City Lord’s Mansion’s main hall. He looked at the Son of Heaven and asked calmly, “Do you have the confidence to kill James?”
The Son of Heaven said arrogantly, “James is nothing but an ant to me.”
Xain promptly advised, “Son of Heaven, you shouldn’t be careless. James is quite an unusual martial artist and practices Demonic Arts. Moreover, his body’s recovery ability is incredible. Although he was relatively weak two years ago, he was still able to hold his own rather well.”
He reminded the Son of Heaven.
The Son of Heaven snorted and said, “Hmph. I won’t lose.”
He was sure of his strength.
Another person chimed in. “Don’t forget, Son of Heaven. Two years ago, you were seriously injured by him.”
Hearing this, the Son of Heaven’s expression darkened, and he clenched his fists tightly.
The disgrace he felt from the battle haunted him.
James had outwitted him. With his strength, he was fully capable of dodging James’ attacks no matter how lethal.
