Sitting on a bench at the Riverside Garden, shadowed by the lush trees, Nathan smoked calmly as he listened to Colin's report.
After Colin was done, he frowned slightly. "Are you telling me that Dexter, Alfie and Connor have died?"
Colin smiled bitterly. "Yeah. Before they could even leave Channing, someone killed them."
Nathan asked in confusion, "Who?"
To which Colin replied, Tve already sent some men to investigate it. However, the other party cleaned up their tracks well. It looked like they came prepared. Hence, we haven't found out who did it yet. Furthermore, there are some rumors from an unknown source spreading everywhere."
"What rumor?"
"For some reason, there's a rumor saying that you're the one who killed Dexter and the rest!"
When Nathan heard him, he paused thoughtfully before saying in a calm voice, "Things aren't as simple as it seems. Someone's probably manipulating things behind-the-scenes and trying to sabotage me!"
Colin continued, "The two old masters of the Artoria family and Lance family flew into outrage after knowing about Dexter and the others' death. They believed the rumor that you killed Dexter and the rest. The Artoria family and the Lance family are preparing to gather all their power and come to Channing to seek revenge on you."
Nathan said calmly, "Looks like someone is trying to sabotage both me, the Artoria family and the Lance family. The person wants to use them to deal with me."
When Nathan said that, he suddenly recalled the time he had been observed in secret.
Hence, he asked, "Oh, right. I asked you to check the New Century Building yesterday. Did you find anything suspicious?"
"I was just about to inform you about it. When I instructed Achaeus and Quinten to check the New Century Building, they found two interesting things to note, or more specifically, two people!"
As Colin spoke, he passed a photograph to Nathan.
The photograph was taken from a surveillance camera in the New Century Building's lift, depicting a man and a woman. The woman was Joanna, while the man was Ingram. There were a few subordinates standing behind them as well.
