Kylie, who was tied to a chair, knew the call was from her brother-in-law as soon as she heard his voice.
She shouted anxiously, "Nathan, don't come! Don't bother... They're here for you with three..."
Before she could say the word 'sniper,' Ingram cursed and quickly went up to cover her mouth with his hand.
Kylie tried to struggle but could only mutter the sound uh-uh. She could not warn Nathan about the snipers.
Joanna was furious as Kylie had almost ruined her plan. She shouted at Ingram, "Tape her mouth!”
She then went back to Nathan on the phone, "Ten more minutes. If you don't show up, we're going to throw your sister-in-law's naked body in the garbage heap!"
As soon as she finished speaking, she hung up.
Soon after, Kylie's mouth was taped shut.
Ingram shot Joanna a fake concerned look and asked, "I wonder if Nathan will be scared to come?"
"Don't worry. I have a hunch he will come," Joanna said as she narrowed her eyes.
Kylie had been tied to a chair, and now even her mouth was taped. Tears started to well in her eyes as she kept murmuring to herself.
Nathan, please... please don't come...
A few minutes later...
A loud car engine noise was heard.
Someone is here!
Joanna, Ingram, Wilde, with the rest of their men, walked out of the abandoned building with Kylie in their arms.
As expected, a red Hongqi appeared in front of them.
Nathan opened the door and got out from the driver's seat.
As soon as Kylie saw him, she couldn't help but burst into tears. She was moved by his presence but panicked at the same time.
I told him not to come, yet he's still here for me.
Joanna and Ingram Ziegler exchanged a look silently. They looked surprised.
"Well, well. Nathan Cross. You're indeed a man of his word. But do you know that's your weakness? You value kinship and friendship too seriously. Don't you know you're courting death by coming here all alone just for your sister-in-law?" Joanna sniggered; she was excited that Nathan had finally come.
Ingram Ziegler drew out a sharp dagger and threw it at Nathan's feet. "Pick it up and kill yourself. Only then can your sister-in-law live."
