As soon as the sun rose the next morning, Nathan left for Brimmopolis.
Coincidentally, Kylie had taken leave from work for the next few days. After finding out that he was going to Brimmopolis, she insisted on going with him to have some fun there.
However, Nathan turned down her request immediately.
Thankfully, Penny spoke up on her behalf. Since Nathan's companions were going to be males, wouldn't it be good if Kylie could go along with them to take care of their day-to-day life?
Penny smiled at Nathan. “Since Kylie wants to go to Brimmopolis so much, please take her along, Nathan.”
“You're talented at many things, but household chores are not your forte. With Kylie around, that's one less thing I'll have to worry about.”
Nathan felt a little helpless, but he agreed to Penny's request in the end. He turned to Kylie and said, “Alright, then. You can come along with me to Brimmopolis.”
“But I must this clear to you—I'm going to Brimmopolis for work, alright? I won't have time to frolic around with you.”
Kylie merely threw her head back and laughed. “Okay! If I feel like sightseeing, I'll hire a tour guide myself.”
That morning, Nathan, Kylie, Colin, and the Elite Eight set off to Brimmopolis on a plane.
By afternoon, the plane had touched down at their destination.
The Major-General of the Capital Garrison, Will Long, led a team of his soldiers to receive Nathan at the airport in military vehicles.
“Welcome to Brimmopolis, General!”
“How do you do, Major-General Long?”
Will and Nathan shook hands firmly before they climbed into the jeep.
Both of their subordinates got into the military vehicles behind them.
After that, the cars set off steadily for the White House.
While they were on their way there, Nathan thanked Will for taking the time to pick him up at the airport and asked him if he knew anything about the President's illness.
Will replied, “The President is ill, but nobody else other than the First Lady and the doctors are allowed to see him. I heard things aren't looking great for him.”
Nathan frowned. “I didn't think it would be that serious."
In a quiet voice, Will said, “General, you are one of his disciples, aren't you? In the future, I'll be counting on you.”
