Unable to stand the constant invitations of the surrounding men and feeling frustrated with Penny's family's preaching, she blurted out, “All right, all right. It's just a dance. I'm going to get my own dance partner.”
With that said, she glanced at men around her, who all had similar looks of eagerness. Scowling in her mind, she averted her eyes away from them.
Right then, she noticed Nathan, who was standing at the side quietly; He was standing in a corner of the hall with a faint smile on his lips. With bright and loving eyes, he stared at his wife and daughter.
At that, Kylie could not help but freeze.
The way this average-looking guy smiles and
looks at them reminds me of Nathan.
For a brief second, Kylie thought she was looking at Nathan instead.
Her feet subconsciously brought her over to him, and she muttered, “Bay, would you like to dance with me?”
Stiffening, he instantly rejected, “I'm working-”
Before he could finish his sentence, Ava interrupted, “I'll protect Mrs. Cross and the others. You can have a dance with Ms. Tonkins.”
What Ava had noticed earlier was that Bay was staring at Penny with adoration again.
Furious, she nearly lost her temper there and then.
Hence, when she heard Kylie inviting Bay to dance, she immediately interrupted his rejection and urged him to get lost from his spot.
Peeking at Ava's expression, Nathan promptly knew what she was thinking.
She must be angry because I, as a bodyguard, am sneaking glances at Mrs. Cross.
Feeling awkward by that, he swiftly accepted Kylie's invitation and went to the dance floor with her.
As Nathan held onto one of Kylie's hands, he placed his other hand on Kylie's waist. Then, the two started dancing with perfect synchronization.
Nathan was born with a silver spoon, and Kylie's family was well-off as too.
