Nathan found the question to be quite odd. “He is the commander-in-chief of the North Army. He undergoes training during normal days to prepare for war anytime. Nothing really extraordinary, to be honest...”
“Quit yakking and just tell me more about Nathan like I asked you to.”
Nathan had no choice but to tell her a few stories that happened in the military.
He certainly did not expect that she would listen to those stories with such gusto.
Nathan had a hunch that something was not quite right, but he did not dare to jump to any conclusions either.
It was getting late. The night breeze along the riverbank was getting chilly.
Nathan was in a suit, looking like a typical bodyguard. Hence, he did not notice the cool breeze.
However, things were quite different for Kylie. She was dressed only in a white dress.
As a result, she could not but retract her neck amidst the mercilessly chilling breeze.
Her gaze fell on Nathan's coat and tried her best to sound as nonchalant as possible. “It's quite chilly out tonight huh!”
Nodding his head, Nathan muttered, “It sure is.”
Kylie widened her eyes in disbelief.
She deliberately spoke louder, “Bay, I'm cold.” Nathan then glanced over at Kylie and noticed that she only had a sleeveless dress on. He grabbed on his coat.
Kylie's eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope.
However, she was surprised at what happened next.
Nathan pulled on his coat, hugging himself tighter as he did so. Smiling, he said, “The temperature has been dipping these nights. It's really quite cold out.”
“Ms. Tonkins, I can only imagine how cold you feel in that sleeveless dress.
“Fortunately I had the foresight to put on a coat just now. I'm feeling quite warm and snug now!”
Kylie could not believe how dense the man was. What a weirdo. Has got he no sense of
chivalry at all?
“You!”
Nathan gave her a smile. “What's the matter?”
Incensed, Kylie said, “Nothing. Let's go.”
