The next day afternoon, Nathan visited the Lucas family with Penny.
Zion was dressed in a grey jacket and looking full of vigor. He stood at the door with his wife, Rayne, and son, Corey, as they awaited Nathan's arrival.
Zion was much more senior than Nathan according to qualifications and experiences.
In terms of rank, since Zion was one of the ten Great Cabinet Members, he was also above Nathan.
As such, it was rather surprising that he would be personally welcoming Nathan together with his family. That showed that Nathan was held in high regard by Zion.
Zion laughed heartily and said, “Haha! General, you and your missus have finally arrived.”
Nathan quickened his footsteps and hurried over to greet Zion. The two men shook hands as Nathan said smilingly, “You shouldn't have come out personally, Mr. Lucas. I'm so flattered!”
Penny, who was next to Nathan, greeted Zion politely as well. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Lucas, Mrs. Lucas, and Young Mr. Lucas.”
Zion smiled and replied, “I've heard of Mrs. Cross' reputation as the goddess of the business world because of your outstanding business acumen as well as your unrivaled beauty. After meeting you today, I have finally confirmed personally that you indeed live up to your name. The General and you are such a great match!”
A blush spread across Penny's cheeks when she heard that.
Nathan laughed and replied, “Mr. Lucas, stop teasing us.”
Zion said cheerfully while extending his hand, “Come on inside, Mrs. Cross. My wife has specially made some of her best dishes, knowing that the General is coming to visit. We have to drink to our hearts' content today!”
“After you, Mr. Lucas!” Nathan said and the group proceeded to the living room.
After all of them were seated, tea was served by the servants.
Then, Rayne took Penny on a tour around the house.
After the two women left, Zion dismissed his servants in the living room, as well as the National Guards and his bodyguards.
