A few hours later, it was daybreak.
One of the two bodyguards awoke in a daze.
Lifting his head, he felt lost scanning his surroundings. Suddenly, he recalled that a doctor had asked them for directions. When he was about to answer, the doctor covered his mouth and everything went black.
He quickly checked on his partner whom he realized was still unconscious.
“Dino, wake up!”
Dino gradually opened his dreamy eyes and asked, “Bronco, what time is it? Why am I asleep?”
Just as he spoke, Dino remembered what happened. He jumped out of his seat and exclaimed, “That doctor, he ambushed us!”
Filled with dread, Bronco quipped, “Quick, check on Mr. Goldstein!”
As both of them barged into the ward frantically, they were dumbfounded by what they saw.
Leaser lay pale in his bed as his body had lost all color. He had been dead for a long time.
Blood had drenched the side of the bed while the bedpan on the floor was overflowing with it.
Bronco fell onto his knees. With an ashen
expression, he lamented, “We... we're finished!”
Dino stuttered, “Call... call Ms. Goldstein to inform her and also Mr. Davier...”
Daybreak.
The news of Ceaser being assassinated in the hospital spread throughout Brimmopolis.
Everyone was talking about it and speculating who it was that did it.
Within the upper echelons, it was common knowledge that the Goldstein family had hired Maldragon for a failed assassination attempt against Nathan.
No one had expected something to happen to Ceaser within such a short period of the failed assassination on Nathan.
Therefore, it was the consensus that both these incidents were linked.
Naturally, everyone assumed that the Goldstein family had infuriated Nathan, who then sent men to kill Ceaser.
Inside the Red Hotel.
Nathan and Penny were having breakfast when Colin hurriedly reported the matter to him.
Nathan couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows in response.
“What did you say? Ceaser was assassinated in the hospital last night?”
Colin smiled wryly. “That's correct. In fact, the killer killed him in a gruesome manner.”
“The assassin injected him with anesthetic so that his brain was still conscious when he bled to death. I surmised he wanted Ceaser to die in despair.”
Nathan and Penny exchanged glances.
