Salute to the General novel Chapter 1839

As the sun began to set, it's crimson light flooded the sky.

A couple of military SUVs headed south under the glistening light of the sunset.

Far behind the convoy in the rear-view mirror was Brimmopolis.

Inside the vehicle at the center of the convoy, Corey was sitting in the back seat. His body jerked along with how the SUV was swaying on the road.

Meanwhile, he was feeling depressed.

Roy, the captain of his security team consoled him, “Mr. Lucas, don't feel down. Your departure from Brimmopolis is just temporary.”

“One month later, when Mr. Lucas is elected the new President, you will then be treated like a prince."

“By then, you can return to Brimmopolis gloriously. The Lucas family will be the most important family in the country and no one will dare disrespect you anymore.”

Having heard those words, Corey couldn't help but smile as that was what he was anticipating.

Everything he did was solely to increase the odds of his father becoming the new President. As long as he could endure one more month for Zion to ascend the position, everything would turn in their favor.

Corey's face was filled with anticipation at the thought of his dad becoming the President and he implicitly becoming the “prince”.

Boom! Suddenly, the two front-most vehicles in the convoy were blown away in a deafening explosion.

Meanwhile, the vehicle he was in was overturned from the impact.

In a muddled daze, he was both shocked and furious. “What's going on?”

A voice could be heard from Roy's walkie-talkie. The other bodyguards were yelling at the top of their lungs, “Ambush! Ambush! We are under attack by an unidentified group...”

Corey's expression changed drastically when he heard it.

Roy's eyes widened as he barked, “Get out and return fire! Protect Mr. Lucas!”

Just as he spoke, he kicked open the door and scrambled out from the overturned vehicle.

At the same time, the bodyguards from the other three vehicles behind them alighted with their weapons locked and loaded.
