Hansel explained calmly, “I didn't think Clifford was a good leader, hence preferred Zion to succeed me. I had thought he was an honest and steadfast man. But didn't expect him to tolerate his son's unscrupulous actions. He has disappointed me by not living up to my expectations. Perhaps, Nathan is right. Zion is not the best candidate.”

Hailey was stunned by his words.
