The news of Garrett becoming the next President was already being spread out among the influential officials inconspicuously.
In the flash of an eye, Garrett, who was usually unremarkable among the council, suddenly became a celebrity.
Having secured the position of the President, all that was left standing in his way was but a minuscule problem: the election procedures.
However, something unexpected happened before Garrett was officially elected. The General of the North, Nathan, was stripped of his position out of the blue.
As the news of this had gone out, it caused a commotion around the globe.
People found it hard to believe that Nathan, who was well-known for his title “God of War”, had lost his position.
Later in the afternoon, Nathan met up with Penny at the Brimmopolis airport in his usual attire. They were waiting for their flight back to Channing.
Dressed in military uniforms, Colin and the Elite Eight were sending them off in tears.
Nathan looked at them with a smile and said, “We all knew that this day would come. And it seems like now's the time. That being said, You guys should head back to the North as soon as possible. The army needs you.”
Colin's eyes were flooded with tears as he uttered while sobbing, “I've sworn my fidelity to one general only, and that general is you.”
“General, if they forcefully remove your position, then I'll renounce my position as a soldier and accompany you to the South. I, Colin, will serve under you and you alone,” added Colin.
“Yeah, we'll all renounce our positions and follow you to the South.” The Elite Eight said unanimously.
Nathan was unhappy as he replied, “What bullsh*t are you guys going on about? You all owe a debt to the country for the resources spent on you. Besides, if you all quit now, then the lessons that I have taught to you would all be for naught.”
“I'm not the General of the North anymore so there's no point in following me further. Therefore, you all should just be obedient and stay in the army. Most importantly, make sure you all continue to utilize your skills for the country. Don't disappoint me,” he added.
“General, despite your great accomplishments in the North, they still treat you like this. As your brothers, how can we not be dissatisfied with their decision? It's just unfair...” Colin responded sullenly.
“I believe the higher-ups have their reasons for doing so,” said Nathan nonchalantly.
“We only need to follow orders! That's the basic requirement of a soldier. Whatever decisions the higher-ups make, we'll comply and obey. Got it?” he added.
