Salute to the General novel Chapter 1862

The reflection of the spearhead gleamed in Nathan's eyes as it went past his face by just a few inches. Nathan had taken a step back and tilted his body backward, narrowly dodging the razor-sharp spear.

Having missed his target just by a tiny bit, Zachery swung the spear around and charged toward Nathan like an enraged bull.

He wielded the two-meter spear agilely, spinning and swirling it as he fought Nathan. His maneuvering of the weapon was skillful and masterly as he battered his opponent relentlessly.

Yet, despite how good Zachery was with the spear, his attacks were futile. Although he kept showering strikes at Nathan, Nathan was cool as a cucumber. His moves were spontaneous and

unswerving as he dodged Zachery's attacks.

The repeated attacks exhausted Zachery, and his energy was wearing thin.

Meanwhile, Nathan, who had been merely defending himself all this while, spotted his opponent's lethargy and knew it was his chance to act.

In a flash, he pulled out his sword and struck when no one was expecting him to retaliate.

The whetted blade cut through the air, and with a final whoosh, Nathan put an end to the draining fight.

Everything came to a halt as Zachery stood still two meters away from Nathan.

Wait, what just happened? Why did they stop?

The clueless crowd had their gaze locked on the duo, holding their breath.

Right then, Zachery's head drooped and his eyes widened in disbelief upon realizing that the spear in his hands had broken into a clean half.

Incipient pain intensified in his chest as his shirt gradually turned blood red.

Blood spread out across his chest in no time, soaking his whole shirt wet.

From the sight of it, the wound was undoubtedly deep and fatal.

Shrieks and shouts echoed in the restaurant while Zachery dropped to the ground in utter defeat.

He lifted his head in resignation with his quivering lips curled up into a sad smile. “Isn't life funny? I've worked hard my whole life, but still, I lost to you.”

“You're a talented man, and you could have had a bright future. But you made the wrong choice,” Nathan replied indifferently as he looked at the man kneeling before him.

Zachery's lips twitched as words lingered in his mouth. Before he could say another word, he collapsed to the ground and heaved his last breath.

With Toby and Zachery dead, their headless underlings fell into trepidation.

Just as they were busy thinking about their next step, Zed arrived with his team of armed policemen.

The captain rushed over to Nathan and greeted him before ordering his men to apprehend Toby and Zachery's subordinates. “Bind them up. Don't lose any of them!”

Within seconds, the police arrested them and dragged them out.

“Mr. Cross, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this bunch of imbeciles on your birthday. I'll make sure these brats get what they deserve. I actually wanted to come over and celebrate with you, but the mayor was insistent on having a meeting...”
