That night, Colin and the Elite Eight who were in the army base in the North received an order in private from the temporary commander-in-chief there, Fang, to set out for Brimmopolis immediately to meet up and safeguard their General.
The mission came as a pleasant surprise for them, given that they had spent the past few days worrying day and night about the wellbeing of the General and their futures.
They were told that the General had been appointed as the Chief Military Governor and that they could continue to stay by his side as his dependable guards.
Excitement welled up within Colin and the Elite Eight, and they spared no time at all to get going.
Before the sun had even risen the next day, they boarded a plane to Brimmopolis and eventually arrived at the Red Hotel while keeping a low profile.
The next morning, when Nathan stepped out of his hotel room, he was immediately greeted by Colin and the members of the Elite Eight.
Though they were casually dressed and looked slightly disheveled, bright smiles were plastered on their faces, and from their eyes, one could tell that they were genuinely happy.
Whoosh!
They saluted to Nathan in unison. “Sir!”
Their cheerful voices brought Nathan back to his senses. Taking a good look at the group standing before him, Nathan felt rather touched and said, “How did you guys come here from the
North this fast?”
Colin replied, “We miss you very much, and we've also been really worried that nobody is with you to protect your safety, so we got here as quickly as we could.”
Nathan patted Colin's shoulder and turned to the others. “This is what brothers are for, huh?”
Grinning from ear to ear, Colin laughed, “Sir, we can't be happier to fight alongside you again!”
Nathan nodded. “I can't be more glad to have you guys as my soldiers too! Prepare yourselves. We'll take off after breakfast. First, we're flying to Channing, then back to the North.”
Colin saluted once more. “Yes, sir!”
And so, Nathan, Colin, and Elite Eight began digging into their breakfasts at the same table.
