Salute to the General novel Chapter 1929

That night, Penny and Ava arrived at Aegean Hotel by car.

They found Webb sitting in the restaurant by himself, enjoying a piece of steak in solitude.

The musicians on stage played a beautiful melody as he ate, while waiters and waitresses scurried around to meet his every need. Suitclad bodyguards stood guard at every corner of the restaurant.

When Webb caught sight of Penny and Ava, a slight smirk appeared on his face. He stared at her playfully as he said, “Welcome, Ms. Smith. I didn't expect you to come.”

He gestured to a waiter beside him, who pulled out a chair for Penny.

However, Penny simply glared at him coldly. “I'm here to find out what happened to my husband, not to have dinner with you. Just tell me what you know about him and I'll take my leave.”

Webb's grin did not waver a single bit. “Why don't you take a seat? We have all the time in the world anyway.”

He gestured to the steak in front of him. “Besides, I'm having dinner now. It'll be pretty rude of you to disturb me while I'm having a meal.”

Penny sighed in exasperation and sat down. “Fine. I'll wait for you to finish eating.”

Webb smirked subtly and picked up the bottle of high-class wine on the table to pour a glass for Penny. “Have a drink, Ms. Smith.” “I don't drink wine,” Penny snapped.

Webb shrugged and downed the glass of wine himself. “Suit yourself.”

For the next hour, Penny waited patiently for Webb to finish his meal, but Webb seemed to have purposely slowed down after her arrival.

Just before Penny was going to get up and leave in frustration, Webb finally put down his cutlery and wiped his mouth clean.

“Are you done? Can we talk now?” she asked impatiently.

Webb smirked. “Sure, but not here. Shall we go back to my Presidential Suite?”
