Salute to the General novel Chapter 2155

The Camden family's repeated attempts left Nathan vexed.

After he got home, he summoned Colin and Ava, asking them to ratchet up surveillance and protection of his family. He even permitted them to reach out to Franklin so he could send the army if need be.

“We'll look into it immediately,” Colin and Ava replied.

Over at Eagleland, Bowen was equally enraged when he found out that Wilmer and his men failed the mission.

“Penny is my daughter. She's a Camden. She's supposed to come back to her people! Who is Nathan to stop her from returning to us? And how dare he kill Wilmer?”

Right next to Bowen, was a man dressed in grey linen clothing. He bent his thin and tall body closer to Bowen and tried to calm him down. “Don't waste your energy on him, Mr. Camden. It's obvious that he doesn't want Ms. Camden to come back. She owns Eurasia's pharmaceutical company now, and her business is worth hundreds of billions. Nathan is probably worried that Cross Group will fall into our hands after she joins the family. That's why he's doing all he can to stop her from coming back.”

The old and slender man was the family's advisor, Roderick.

Bowen would always turn to him whenever he was caught in a conundrum. Federick had never failed to provide him with fresh perspectives on matters bugging him, and Bowen took him as his trusted confidant.

“But Penny is my daughter. She belongs to the family. What she has is ours. I don't see why her company shouldn't be under the Camdens!” Bowen got tetchier as he voiced his opinions.

“Besides, Camden Group is one of the largest consortiums in the world! We have an extensive pool of resources. Our family can definitely grow Cross Group into something much bigger. Its market value will shoot up. This is way better than having Penny manage the company herself. Nathan has no say in our family affairs, and he has no right to stop her from coming back.”

However, Federick had a different take on this matter. “We have to remember that Nathan is her husband, and they already have a daughter together. Penny cares about him a lot and she always respects his wishes.”

Bowen rolled his eyes and scoffed, “I bet he's only after her money! I could well accept him as my son-in-law if he were still the Commander-

In-Chief of the North Army, but now that he's sacked, he's just a nobody. He has nothing to offer now.”
