Nathan gave a small smile. "I said I wasn't working but I have never said that I didn't have money."

This took Kylie back by surprise, but she realized what Nathan said was indeed true. Being unemployed and having money weren't two contradicting notions.

Kylie was curious. "As far as I know, Perpetual Love is the money maker for the Chamberlains and is worth well over eight hundred million. How were you able to purchase the jewelry store from River Chamberlain at only five hundred million and in under ten minutes no less?”

"Because I gave him an offer he couldn't refuse," answered Nathan.

Kylie rolled her eyes. Nathan's answers were often so ambiguous, they barely answered anything at all.

But she also realized that Nathan had the tendency to hide his true capabilities.

He might seem like an unemployed bum, but in truth, he was like an iceberg waiting to be explored.

She was growing more and more suspicious of Nathan. She had a strong feeling that he was the man who saved her at the Indigo Club the day before.
