Wolfric looked at Wael's arrogant attitude with displeasure. He said coldly, “Wael, if your brother, Max, was still in a high position, I might have shown you some respect. However, your brother has become a traitor to humanity now, and his name has been secretly removed from the military. Our country is only keeping a lid on this matter to save face. I can't believe the Charleigh family is actually following in your brother's footsteps, colluding with the vampires and working for them. I'm telling you. Your family is in deep trouble.”
Wolfric stubbed out his cigarette and added, “I'm giving you two options. Turn yourself in now and cooperate with us to investigate your family. In that case, I can apply for leniency on your behalf since you'll be acting as an accomplice witness. Alternatively, I'll kill you now and order the Special Forces I've deployed outside to attack.”
As Wolfric spoke, the eight bodyguards standing behind him drew their guns almost at the same time.
Eight dark muzzles were aimed at Wael.
To Wolfric's surprise, Wael, whose deeds had been exposed and was now being held at gunpoint, still remained calm.
A hint of derision glinted in Wael's eyes as he straightened himself in the chair. “Admiral Welz, you've worked with my brother for years, but you don't understand him or the Charleigh family. We, from the Charleigh family, have never liked taking the paths chosen for us by others. Therefore, I shall instead provide you with two options now. You can either join us or die.”
Wolfric frowned. “Ha! You're being stubborn even on the brink of death. Men, seize him! If he resists, kill him on the spot.”
“Yes, Admiral Welz!”
Four among Wolfric's eight bodyguards immediately stepped forward, wanting to arrest Wael.
However, when they got closer to Wael, he snorted and exclaimed, “Insolence!”
With that, he grabbed a paper cutter from the table and swiftly swung the knife.
Whoosh!
The blade glinted, slitting the throat of four super-soldier instantaneously.
Before the four super-soldiers could even fire their guns, their throats had been sliced open, and they fell to the ground in a pool of blood in unison.
Wolfric's pupils contracted as he took in that sudden turn of events.
