However, moments later, he said with a smile, “Good things take time. The Chief Military Governor is an invincible hero. One will need to be destined to be able to make an appearance in front of him. Since it isn't convenient this time around, next time then. By the way, I have brought the Chief Military Governor a gift. Please pass it to him on my behalf.”
Will was curious. “May I know what kind of gift it is? The Chief Military Governor seldom accepts gifts. Besides, there is a higher chance of him rejecting your gift if it is too valuable.”
Carlton Anderson smiled. “It's just something small.”
Then, with a gesture, his subordinate came
forward with a small box.
Inside the box was a classic Zippo lighter.
Will was well aware that Zippo was a well-known brand internationally.
However, he found it unusual and asked, “What is so special about this lighter?”
Carlton smiled and replied, “This is a limited edition Zippo lighter. Back when Eurasia won the war, a friend from a foreign country has gifted the first edition of the God of War lighter to Eurasia.”
Will widened his eyes in disbelief. “This lighter holds lots of significance!”
Carlton smiled again. “That's right. I happened to obtain this lighter. Since this lighter used to belong to the first God of War of Eurasia, I feel that it is only befitting that the Chief Military Governor has it.”
“The Chief Military Governor may not accept other gifts. But, I'm pretty sure he will be pleased with this one.”
Carlton was delighted to hear that. “Then I shall leave it to Major-General Long to hand it over to the Chief Military Governor.”
With that, Carlton left with his subordinates.
With the lighter in his hand, Will went into the private room with the rest of his men.
When Nathan saw him, he smiled lightly and said, “Will, you are finally here.”
Will and his men bowed to Nathan.
Then, Will laughed, “Haha! Chief Military Governor, please forgive me for my tardiness. Earlier on, there was someone who wanted to meet you. But I know you aren't into socializing, so I turned him down. However, he insisted on giving you a gift out of respect. So, I had no choice but to accept the gift. Here it is.”
