Salute to the General novel Chapter 2234

Little Amos, or Amos Bale, used to be one of Nathan's National Guard. He was actually the backup captain Nathan had in mind.

Amos trained hard at camp and had followed Nathan through thick and thin.

When Nathan was a mid-ranked military officer and was a little depressed, Amos lifted his spirit by saying, “Oh, c'mon. Chin up. I'm sure you'll become the commander someday.”

Nathan was in the army for a while, but he never even thought about being the commander or a hero.

However, his pal, Amos, kept sharing incredible stories about Nathan and did everything for Nathan's sake.

In fact, Amos was the one who thought of the title “God of War” for Nathan.

That was why Nathan had always cared for and trained Amos well.

Unfortunately, a military operation went awry, and a bullet tore through Amos' leg, turning him into a cripple. That forced Amos to leave the battlefield.

Nathan hadn't heard anything from Amos after the latter was discharged.

The former never would have dreamed that they would meet again like that. He certainly didn't know that Amos' life had been that difficult.

Amos was surprised as well. He didn't expect to see the man he admired the most.

There was a time when Amos would brag to everyone and claim that he was a National Guard who served with the God of War. Heck, Amos would paint that message in the sky if he could.

That had since changed. After Amos got discharged from the military, he stopped telling anyone that he used to work with Nathan. The last thing he wanted was to embarrass the God of War or accidentally tarnish the guy's name.

That was why Amos' first instinct waste run away when he saw Nathan there.

Unfortunately, a figure showed up and blocked his path.

Amos tilted his head up and realized that the person blocking his path was none other than

Nathan himself.

The latter demanded, “What the hell? Why did you run as soon as you see me there? Do you not recognize me or do you just simply hate me?”

Amos cried immediately after. He gritted his teeth and replied, “You are the man I admire the most, and being your subordinate is the best job I ever had, so why would I hate you?”

Nathan complained, “Then why did you run?”
