One of Jace's men came running in and reported that Nathan had arrived as they were laughing.
Turning around, they could see Sean leading Nathan, Penny, Colin, Ava, and a few other members of the Smith family into the dining hall.
As Nathan and Penny stepped into the dining hall, they instantly noticed many tattooed men in black suits seated around, filling almost all the tables in the hall. They gave each other a puzzled look and thought they had descended upon a mafia meeting.
However, Nathan soon caught sight of Tye, and he instantly recognized what was happening.
Penny was momentarily stunned to see Tye there too. She suddenly remembered he had sent a messenger to their home last night with regards to a negotiation meeting, but that messenger was thrown out before he could pass on the message.
She realized Sean had conned them into meeting up with Tye and the Riveras!
Nathan was annoyed that Sean had lied to them, but he did not let his displeasure show.
What was done cannot be undone, and since they had already arrived, he had no intention of backing off at that moment. He wanted to see what monkey business the Rivera family had in mind.
The sight of Nathan provoked the ire of Tye. He narrowed his eyes and gave Nathan a hostile stare. “You are finally here, Nathan! I thought you had chickened out!”
Nathan completely ignored Tye. Instead, he turned to Sean and calmly asked, “What is happening, Grandpa?”
Sean gave him an apologetic look and explained, “Nathan and Penny, I thought it is best to keep a cordial relationship with everyone. Since Tye and the Riveras wanted to have a chat with us, why don't we sit down and hear them out? There are always multiple ways to resolve an issue, so it doesn’t hurt to keep an open mind, does it?”
“But Grandpa, you shouldn't have kept us in the dark. You should have discussed it with us,” Penny grumbled.
“I know I was wrong to lie to you. I apologize to you for that. However, since we are already here, why don't we take a seat and see if we can meet each other halfway?”
Nathan and Penny did not want to make things difficult for Sean, so they obligingly sat down.
Nathan had his gaze fixed on Jace. Jace, too, was checking Nathan out with interest.
Tye let out a cough to bring attention to himself, then started doing the introduction. “This is Jace Rivera, the head of the prominent Rivera family from Yorksland. He is also a magnate of the electronic industry in Yorksland and the leader of Young Knives. The two gentlemen next to him are his sworn brothers and his right-hand men in Young Knives, Tyrone and Reggie.” “It is a pleasure to meet all of you!” Sean was quick to respond, but Nathan remained indifferent. It was obvious he wasn't impressed by the three men.
