Back in the hospital ward, Jett, who had just recovered from his injuries, came to a final conclusion.
Gritting his teeth, he spat, “Nathan must have reported Mr. Quillen to the Chief Military Governor and the President! He's the one responsible for Mr. Quilen's death.”
Upon hearing this, Kit and Irvin frowned.
Initially, they rushed back to the country in hopes of helping Cayden regain his glory and make a comeback.
They never expected that Layden had met his demise before they could even meet him.
Furthermore, Kit and Irvin were no ordinary acquaintances of Layden. To them, Layden was a figure whom they greatly admired and revered. They were determined to take revenge on the person who dared to kill Layden.
“So, you plan to avenge Mr. Quillen?” Kit asked Jett.
“Of course! How can I call myself Mr. Quillen's mentee if I don’t avenge him?” Jett bellowed in reply.
Irvin narrowed his eyes. “What do you have in mind?” “I stand no chance against Nathan alone.” Jett chuckled sinisterly. “But now that the two of you are back, your combined strengths will come in handy in my plans to avenge Mr. Quilen.”
He then declared, “Coincidentally, I learned that Penny's birthday is happening the day after tomorrow, which is the reason why Nathan returned to Channing—to celebrate his wife's birthday. Let's take action on her birthday and take them by surprise. We will send Nathan and his entire family to hell!”
Kit and Irvin traded glances before Irvin replied calmly, “All right. Nathan must pay the price of murdering Mr. Quillen with the lives of his family. We will go along with your plan.”
Benson, Leah, Queenie, and Kylie were ecstatic to learn of Nathan's return.
The moment Queenie saw Nathan, she refused to let go of his arm and called him 'Papa' until her voice became hoarse.
On the other hand, Benson and Leah busied themselves cooking Nathan's favorite dishes.
When Kylie caught sight of Nathan, she was struck with a mixture of joy and embarrassment.
After she lost consciousness in the bathroom back in Brimmopolis, Nathan had been the one who saved her. After that incident, Kylie couldn't help but feel awkward around him.
