Nathan glanced at the injured men on the floor before ordering Colin, “Have our men send them back to Ariarica's embassy.”
“Roger!” Colin responded.
Judging by Chief Cross' actions, I guess it's safe to assume he won't give in to
Ariarica's demands. Looks like there might be hope for our companies, after all!
Chance thought to himself as he watched on from the side.
Nathan then turned toward Chance and said, “Mr. Lucas is still in the process of negotiating with Ariarica. Until the results are out, I need you all to have faith in our country. Do not do anything rash that could jeopardize everything.”
“Understood, Mr. Cross!” Chance and the others replied in unison.
Nathan then waved at them and dismissed them all. “All right, that will be all for now. Head back and wait for further updates. I believe we will have everything settled in a few days.”
Just like that, Chance and the other businessmen all said goodbye and left the scene.
“Don't worry. I'll take care of this. Cross Group will be fine,” Nathan reassured Penny.
Penny nodded gently. “Yeah, I believe in you!”
“I won't be dining at home tonight. Tell Queenie I'll bring her out for some fun once I'm done with things here!” Nathan said with a smile.
Penny's eyes went wide with surprise. “But you've only just come back, Hubby! Are you heading out again?”
“Mr. Lucas is still negotiating with Jessica as we speak, and Ariarica has mobilized its carrier battle group to assert dominance over us. They teamed up with various other countries to carry out training exercises just outside our borders, so I need to go back Mr. Lucas up and give him a little confidence boost.”
“Hubby, are you going to have your soldiers carry out training exercises too?” Penny asked in shock.
Nathan chuckled. “Yup! We won't be fighting alone, though. Our allies will also lend us a hand in the training exercises. It'll be all over the news, so all you have to do is sit back and watch me defend the businesses in our country!”
Penny nodded and leaned forward to give Nathan a quick peck on the cheek.
“Whatever you do, please be careful out there. Make sure to come back alive, okay?” she whispered in his ear.
