Salute to the General novel Chapter 2596

Max's expression darkened upon hearing Nathan's words.

This time, his purpose in visiting Valmora was to force them to take a stance. They had two choices. Either they joined Ariarica to fight against Eurasia, or they continue to serve under Eurasia. However, if they chose the latter, they would make Ariarica and its allies their enemies.

From the looks of the situation, Valmora had established a close relationship with Eurasia. As such, Max reckoned that Adolf might choose to make Ariarica their enemy instead of joining the alliance and standing against Eurasia.

Plastering a fake smile on his face, Max chuckled. “Hahaha. Friendship is a fickle thing. You may be friends today but who's to say you won't end up as enemies tomorrow? I've seen too many of such instances. Valmora and Eurasia can be an example.

Currently, both your countries are on good terms with each other. However, no one can guarantee that the relationship would continue because anything could happen.”

Upon hearing that, Nathan frowned.

Adolf also panicked. He wanted to express that he would never betray Eurasia because Valmora were loyal to them. In the future, he wanted the countries to grow together.

However, before he could make his point, a guard rushed in.

Looking nervous, the guard reported, “Sir, something terrible happened. A group of terrorists has attacked the factory that Cross Group had invested and built here.”

What?

Adolf was taken aback by the news.

Instinctively, he glanced at Nathan.

Before Nathan came, he had informed Adolf that such an incident might happen.

He never expected Nathan's words to actually come true.

On the other hand, Max's eyes it up.

Pretending to be shocked by the sudden news, he exclaimed, “A terrorist attack? Mr. Adolf, Mr. Cross treated you as his friend. Yet, you failed to protect the Cross Group’s pharmaceutical factory that was built on your land. How irresponsible of you!”

Naturally, Adolf was aware that

Nathan's wife, Penny, was the boss of Cross Group.

In other words, Nathan owned Cross Group too.

Given how there was an attack on the factory that Nathan had invested in Valmora, Adolf could not face the man.

Flustered, he felt his palms sweating.

Immediately, he interrogated his subordinate, “What is the situation there? Have the terrorists been caught? Are there any casualties or serious damages to the factory?” Before his subordinate could reply, someone else by the door spoke.
