Following that, Adolf continued poring over the document. There were a lot of details in it, including a money transfer made from Shearson's personal account to Blackgoat. It was a three hundred million transaction.
It turned out that Dip had helped Nathan to compile all of this information.
Shearson had ordered those mercenaries to attack the factory in Valmora that Eurasia invested in. Naturally, to prevent others from tracking it, he could not use Ariarica's budget to pay those mercenaries. However, he could not possibly afford to pay them himself either.
As such, Shearson's approach was to gather Dip and other underground bosses and force them to pay up.
Dip paid and took the opportunity to snap pictures and gather information,
The information went through several hands before it landed in Nathan's lap. Now, it was evidence against Shearson for being involved in terrorist acts.
As Adolf flipped through the document, Max noticed the man occasionally stealing glances in their direction, and he seemed suspicious of them.
In that situation, he could not hold back any longer, and he growled, “Adolf, are you done with the document? What on earth is the evidence that Nathan claims to have? Also, why are you giving me that look?”
“Admiral Max, I think you are the best person to answer all these questions.” Adolf scoffed before he handed the document over to Max.
As soon as Max received it, he began to look through them.
The more he flipped, the darker his expression grew.
At the same time, his vice general standing beside him could not resist and peeked over. Immediately, Shearson’s face turned pale as he fell into despair.
How is it possible for this secret to leak out? Did Blackgoat keep it as his lifeline? Or, could it be that someone else betrayed me?
Coming to his senses, Shearson realized he could not be bothered with who betrayed him at that instance. Instead, he had to think of how to get out of the situation.
As Max read through the contents, he grew angrier. He bellowed, “Slander! Someone is slandering him!”
Then, he closed the document and prepared to tear it into pieces.
However, Nathan's icy cold voice sounded. “What's wrong? After killing the witness, are you also going to destroy the evidence? Feel free to tear those papers up. But do you think you can cover up how Shearson paid the Black Goat Mercenaries off?”
Max froze.
