Meanwhile, a middle-aged gynecologist was studying Penny's test results in her clinic at the First Maternal and Infant Health Hospital in Brimmopolis.
Penny was sitting opposite her, feeling very uneasy.
Ava, who was standing next to Penny, asked, "How're Mrs. Cross’ results, Doctor? Is everything fine?”
The doctor replied with a smile, “Nothing serious. On the contrary, I must congratulate her.”
“Huh? Congratulate me?” Penny was taken aback.
The doctor giggled. “Ms. Smith, the test results show that you're pregnant for about a month now.”
What?
Both Penny and Ava were stunned for a bit, but shortly after, they put on an ecstatic smile.
Penny was especially overjoyed. “Really, Doctor? I'm pregnant?” She got so worked up that her voice broke.
“Yes, that's absolutely correct.” The doctor laughed. “That's the reason why you've been having no appetite recently, feeling somewhat nauseous, and detested oily food when you see them. Those were the signs and symptoms of being pregnant.”
Penny was so happy to hear that that tears began to well up in her eyes.
She held Ava's hands and exclaimed, “Av, I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant again!”
Penny had had a miscarriage and lost her second child due to an untoward incident.
She had suffered from psychological trauma and physical injuries, and all of these had prevented her from bearing Nathan's child.
She had always wanted to give Nathan a son in order to carry on the Cross family line.
