Salute to the General novel Chapter 2687

The next morning, Hansel and Camilla showed up at the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor.

Because Hansel had told Nathan that he would take care of the transportation, Nathan assumed they were only going out for a day trip. Not wanting to have a huge amount of bodyguards with them, Nathan didn't even bring Colin along.

After changing into a set of casual clothes, he headed out the door.

After getting into the car, Nathan saw Hansel, Camilla, and a young driver who looked like he was in his late twenties.

“Well? Go on, Kyler. Greet the man,” Hansel said with a smile.

Kyler then quickly greeted Nathan respectfully.

Nathan nodded at him with a confused look on his face. Who is this driver? Why does it look like he has a unique relationship with Hansel?

Noticing the look of confusion on his face, Camilla explained, "Nathan, this is my brother's son. His name is Kyler Quinn.”

“That's right. Kyler here is my nephew. He has been staying with me lately and helps drive me around,” Hansel added.

Nathan thought to himself. Ah, I understand now! Hansel and Camilla probably get lonely often now that they're old, so they invited their nephew over to keep them company. I suppose it does feel a lot more intimate being with a blood relative than a subordinate.

Hansel then turned toward Kyler and said, “Let's go. Take us straight to Drakontos Resort.” “Got it!” Kyler replied and started the car.

Along the way, Nathan and Hansel chatted about health and family matters to kill time.

Hansel even made sure to promote his nephew to Nathan at every chance he got. “My nephew is a very capable man, Nathan! If possible, I'd like you to give him a suitable position in the White House.”

“Sure. I'm currently trying to fill up some positions, so this is a perfect opportunity,” Nathan replied with a smile.

Hansel chuckled. “I know we're close and all, but you don't have to force yourself to do this for me either. Just give him a very basic job and see how he performs. If you're satisfied with his performance, you can consider promoting him later on. If he fails to deliver what is expected of him, feel free to just kick him out without any hesitation.”

Nathan and Camilla burst out laughing when they heard that.

Kyler, on the other hand, simply maintained a calm expression as he cautiously drove on.
