Salute to the General novel Chapter 2686

Meanwhile, Nathan had received a call from Hansel while working in the White House.

“Mr. Windsor? What a pleasant surprise! It's been a long time since we last spoke on the phone,” Nathan greeted him.

“I suppose old people like me tend to miss you young ones when we have too much time on our hands,” Hansel said with a chuckle.

“How about I come and join you for dinner tonight?” Nathan asked.

“Haha! That won't be necessary, but I am getting a little bored from sitting around at home all day. I was thinking of going out for a bit tomorrow. Will you go on a day trip to Drakontos Mountain with me?” Hansel said.

Nathan paused and frowned upon hearing that.

Huh? I've got a ton of stuff to do every single day! Why would Mr. Windsor suddenly want me to go to Drakontos Mountain with him? Is he really that lonely because he has no children of his own?

Despite being incredibly busy with his work, Nathan accepted Hansel's invitation readily. “Sure thing. I'll arrange for a car to pick us up tomorrow.”

“No need to trouble yourself, Nathan. I've already taken care of the transportation arrangements,” Hansel replied with a chuckle.

“Okay,” Nathan said after a brief pause.

Without giving it much thought, he simply shook his head and smiled after hanging up the phone.

Little did he know, Hansel actually knew how busy he was and had invited him over to Drakontos

Mountain for some other purpose.

Being a simple and straightforward man, Nathan never tried to win voters over through political campaigns even as the day of the election grew closer.

He was so relaxed about it that even Hansel couldn't stand it anymore.

He knew that Nathan wouldn't blow his own trumpet like most other politicians in order to gain support, but the Drakontos Party tomorrow was simply far too important to miss out on.
