Salute to the General novel Chapter 272

When Penny heard what Nathan said, she immediately recalled the grudges between him and the Zabinskis. She too came to the realization that the men in front of them were sent by the Zabinskis, with the sole intent of harming Nathan.

She became even more anxious and stood in front of Nathan protectively. "You can't abuse your authority for a personal grudge! I won't allow you to take him!"

Henry's gaze turned cold. He scoffed, "Nathan Cross. Since you won't cooperate with us, then we'll just have to use force to make you come."

He then ordered his men to apprehend Nathan.

Nathan gently pushed Penny out of the way and grinned at Henry. "No need. I'll go with you. I'm quite interested to see what games you all are up to."

Penny was frantic. "Nathan?”

Nathan lowered his voiced and spoke to her gently. "Penny, don't worry. I'll be okay.

I'll even be back for dinner tonight."

Henry sneered at Nathan's assurances. You think you'll still be able to return for dinner after being taken in by us?

Ha! Truth is you won't be eating any more dinners from now on. Because dead men don't eat!

Before Nathan left with Henry, he didn't forget to remind Kylie to look after her cousin and to not worry her.

Kylie knew Nathan's true identity. But she also vowed to keep his secret from Penny.

So while she wasn't worried about Nathan's safety, she also didn't know how to assuage her cousin's fears. Though frustrated, she still agreed to Nathan's request. "Alright, I will."

Nathan followed Henry into his car and they left the scene.

Penny could only watch as Nathan was being taken away. She started freaking out and quickly made calls to others for help.

Alas, her own connections were limited.

She didn't know any influential higher-ups, and the lower ranking ones she did know were all too afraid and powerless to do anything when they heard that Nathan was taken by the police from the district-level.

Penny paced around anxiously and none of Kylie's assurances were able to comfort or calm her.

Just as Kylie was feeling helpless, a Passat sedan pulled up next to her.

The windows rolled down and sitting inside was a man in his forties.

This man had a receding hairline and a small pair of eyes. He gave one the impression of a shark — vicious-looking, but also a little strange.
