Salute to the General novel Chapter 2785

Jurgis' face fell as he hissed, “Nathan Cross, what the heck are you talking about?”

Nathan scoffed, “I bet you're fully aware of what I mean! To be honest, the only reason I agreed to come and visit your country this round was because of your earnestness while sending an invitation to me previously. However, it only struck me that you were putting on a good front when I arrived here. You're obviously only good at sweet-talking and making empty promises!”

Annie was riled up by Nathan's words.

Her face turned grim in an instant.

With intense fury written all over their faces, Jurgis and the others were about to lambast Nathan for deriding them.

Even so, before they were in time to riposte, Nathan added grimly, “After crossing paths with your earl, duke, and prince, I’m fully aware of your hypocrisy and abhorrence toward me. I know you don't give a d*mn about me, but at the same time, you can’t get on my nerves. Similarly, you look down on Eurasia but can't help admitting that my country is becoming stronger day by day. You don't have the guts to fight against me openly. Thus, you would rather play underhand tactics and collude with others—"

Before Nathan could finish his words, Annie could not refrain from cutting him off furiously. “Mr. Cross, please mind your words. When did we play underhand tactics and collude with others? If you refuse to make things clear and apologize to us, we won't let you off.”

Nathan snickered. “Hah! You should be more than aware of what heinous deeds you've committed!”

Annie's heart skipped a beat as she looked intently into the utter somberness in Nathan's eyes.

Oh my! Has he found something out? No way! I won't chicken out just because of his words.

Steeling herself, she looked up and retorted loudly, “Mr. Cross, I'm clueless about what you mean. Please cut the crap!”

Narrowing his eyes, Nathan sneered, “Since you seem to have lost part of your memory, I don't mind refreshing it then. Queen Annie, allow me to ask something. Are you sure none of you had anything to do with the werewolves that attacked me last night?”
