Salute to the General novel Chapter 2787

Meanwhile, within the embassy, Nathan was on a video call with the Cabinet secretary, Zion, who was a thousand miles away.

While Nathan was on his tour to foreign countries, he left all the nation's affairs to the Cabinet, leaving Zion in charge.

After Zion reported about work, his expression turned grave as he started, “President Cross, I heard about the fallout with Queen Annie.”

Nathan was stunned briefly. “You guys already heard about it?”

Zion laughed. “After you took office, the whole world became very concerned with your presidential trip. Naturally, there are daily updates in the country about your visit.”

Suddenly, the tone of his voice dropped to a whisper. “The government is worried about your safety, so we have security detail in place to protect you and watch out for your every move to prevent any threat to your safety.”

Nathan was aware Eurasia had many undercover intelligence officers all over the world.

During my presidential trip around the globe this time, the undercover intelligence officers lurking in nations with bad relations with Eurasia must have focused all their attention on me and secretly protected me like unsung heroes. I supposed these unsung heroes are always reporting my every move to their superiors, hence all the important figures within Eurasia, such as Zion, Zach, Lucas, and the other authoritative figures, know all my movements. If I encounter any danger or precarious situation, Eurasia can take immediate action.

Nathan glanced at Zion and smiled. “Well, I guess bad news travels fast. I did have some conflicts with Queen Annie, but I didn't expect all of you to have already heard about it. Fret not, Zion. The problem wasn't serious, and I've already planned to leave Eagleland tonight.”

Zion replied gravely, “President Cross, we have a dedicated security team in place to collect intelligence and assess your security risk every day. They'll advise you instantly if they deem the security risk of your situation poses a threat to your safety. The team's director informed me about an amber alert for your safety a while ago. There's a security risk with your current circumstances. He suggested you end your trip at Eagleland and not take the private plane when you leave.”

Nathan frowned at the suggestion. “Don't take the private plane?”

Zion answered, “Yes, sir. They received some unreliable information that the werewolves might launch another attack upon you. The intel says they plan to sneak up on you during your departure from Eagleland. Hence the team advised you against taking the private plane. If you encounter any aerial attack, the danger to your safety will skyrocket. The team proposed that you fake your departure by taking your private plane but discreetly change your departure route to either the sea or land.”

Nathan chuckled. “I think the werewolves aren't that bold as to attack my private plane. Isn't the suggestion by the Security Risk Assessment Team a bit too over the top?”

Zion insisted, “It's better to be safe than sorry. Your current status is way too important to our nation. Furthermore, since you took office, the Adrune nations believe Eurasia will rise to glory again. They consider you a thorn in their flesh and hope to get rid of you. President Cross, please consider our suggestion on behalf of the First Lady and the citizens of Eurasia. Please be cautious and adhere to the team's recommendation.”

Nathan didn't know what to say when Zion put it that way.

At last, he laughed. “The earnest exhorts from you remind me of a past king with a quick temper and his Cabinet secretary. Don't worry, Zion! I'm not quick-tempered nor irresponsible like him. Since you've already deemed taking the private plane would be dangerous to me, I'll listen to your advice and leave Eagleland in another way.”
