Salute to the General novel Chapter 2803

Max shot her a glance before gesturing to his driver to stop the car.

Soon, his Lincoln and the few Audis following behind pulled to a halt by the roadside.

The gorgeous woman’s antique car stopped by the roadside as well. After the door opened, she stretched out a slender leg in heels before getting off the car, revealing her perfect curvy figure.

Max's lips curled up slightly as he fastened his gaze on her. “Ha! Your Lord Antonio seems to be paying extra attention to anything related to me!”

The gorgeous woman smiled. “We vampires have been having a hard time facing problems with our survival these few years. Therefore, Lord Antonio has been thinking of collaborating with humans in the government sector like you. That's why he's been paying more attention to you lately.”

Max snickered. “Why is he paying more attention to me? Why did he choose Ariarica but not other countries such as Eurasia?”

The gorgeous woman smiled as she explained, “It's because you're from Adrune, and it's considered our land of birth. Since we intend to collaborate with humans, naturally, our first choice would be a country from Adrune. Furthermore, Ariarica is known to all as a country with hardly any restrictions. Not to mention, a lot of us have settled down in Ariarica. Hence, we tend to have a special devotion toward this country.”

Hearing that, Max was pleased. Looking at the gorgeous woman, he stated placidly, “You're undoubtedly honey-tongued. What's your name?”

“Admiral Max, my name is Gianna,” she replied respectfully.

Max nodded admiringly. “Gianna? It's a nice name. In actuality, your Lord Antonio had tried to look for me a few times, and I've never doubted his sincerity. If he were an earl or duke of the vampires, I would surely be interested in collaborating with him. But too bad he's only a viscount. I bet his competence and status are so-so among the other vampires.”

Gianna elucidated hastily, “Admiral Max, our Lord Antonio is not an ordinary viscount of the vampires. He's as competent as any other earl of the vampires and might even be comparable to the dukes. Inevitably, other vampires have been underestimating his ability all this while just because he's not from the direct bloodline. If you're willing to collaborate with him, I assure you you'll be astounded by his impressive competence!”

Only then did Max realize that Antonio was an outcast among the vampires.

Antonio was not a pureblood vampire as he was an ordinary human three hundred years ago. A female vampire had bitten him on the neck and injected a drop of pure vampire blood into his body. Since then, he transformed into a low-ranked vampire known as a bondslave.

Bondslaves were deemed the lowliest among all the vampires and had the lowest status. Most of them could only run errands and carry out laborious tasks for the pureblood vampires.

Nonetheless, Antonio was capable. He put in a lot of effort and managed to upgrade his power to an incredibly high level within three hundred years. Hence, the other pureblood vampire earls were no match for him. Subsequently, he became a viscount of the vampires after his status was elevated.

Nevertheless, he still felt that the other vampires were underestimating him. He could not resist thinking that if he were a pureblood, he would have become an earl or even a duke by now. Thus, he could not help but lament his background.

Because of that, Antonio had been striving hard for greater achievements. He hoped the royal family of the vampires would notice and acknowledge his competence one day.

That was why Antonio approached Max. He could barely wait to help Max accomplish his goals in exchange for the vampires' survival rights in Ariarica. If he could contribute to the vampires' well-being, he foresaw the royal family of the vampires acknowledging his competence and elevating his status.

After gaining a grasp of the situation, Max smiled. “It's normal for everyone to brag about their abilities to impress others. How about this? I will leave first. If you can keep pace with me at the next traffic light junction, I'll consider meeting your Lord Antonio.”
