Salute to the General novel Chapter 2807

In just a few hours, Jurgis' family gathered twenty billion and transferred it to the bank account of Eurasia's Board of Revenue as requested by Nathan.

Jurgis and his trusted subordinates were allowed to board a helicopter and return to Eagleland.

Jermaine, the leader of the Dragon Warriors, came to ask for Nathan's instructions.

In a respectful tone, he asked, “President Cross, are we going to sail back to Eurasia now?”

Nathan replied, “I remember the naval army has a mission to complete. Have you completed your mission?”

An awkward expression took over Jermaine's face.

He answered honestly, “President Cross, our mission is to protect the maritime trade route and defeat the pirates. This time, we ran across some small pirate crews and destroyed them entirely to protect the maritime trade route. Our mission has ended, but at the same time, not really.”

Nathan was initially satisfied with Jermaine's answer, but the latter's last sentence displeased him. “What do you mean your mission has ended, but at the same time, not really?”

Jermaine revealed, “President Cross, we defeated the pirates as ordered to protect the maritime trade route. However, we discovered an island called Mille Crescent Island nearby through this mission. There are over five hundred thousand inhabitants on that island. The inhabitants are pretty diverse. Some are natives, but some are pirates who made the island their home base. Besides, there are also mercenaries, drug traffickers, gambling gangs, and scam gangs on the island. It is known as the lawless land and is a paradise for criminals.” Nathan furrowed his brows. “You want to raze down this paradise and arrest all the criminals there?”

Jermaine shook his head profusely. “No, that won't work. There are many inhabitants, and it's complicated. Besides, most of them are natives of the island. Some are fishermen who follow the pirates out to loot the unsuspecting boats passing by. It is difficult to distinguish who is good and who is bad there. This isn't an easy problem to solve. We might be blamed for killing innocent people if we do the wrong thing, so we can't just kill them all.”

Nathan was baffled. “Then why did you mention it to me? Does this have anything to do with the Dragon Warriors’ mission to keep the peace?”

Jermaine explained, “There is a famous professor in our country who specializes in drugs and toxins. His name is Eliano Salce. He has successfully developed a medication to help humans get rid of their drug addiction. Apparently, drug addicts can get rid of any drug addiction entirely after taking the medication Professor Salce developed. That way, all drug addicts can start anew.”

Nathan was pleasantly surprised. “Oh, that's great news! Many people in the world became drug addicts accidentally, under peer pressure, or due to a momentary lapse of judgment. Professor Salce's medication will definitely benefit society.”

A beat later, comprehension dawned, and Nathan demanded, “What does Professor Salce have to do with Mille Crescent Island?”

Jermaine explained, “Professor Salce's medication caused an uproar after his success. Some time ago, he came to Eagleland to attend a medical conference to give a talk and promote his new medication. Despite bringing hope to countless drug addicts, he became the target of drug lords. They were afraid their business would take a hit if Professor Salce's medication was mass-produced, so they hired pirates to kill him.”

Nathan's expression turned dark. “Did they succeed?”

Jermaine replied, “Not yet. The most powerful pirate of Mille Crescent Island, Blackbeard, kidnapped Professor Salce. Instead of killing Professor Salce, he wants to use the professor to negotiate with the drug lords as he thinks he's being offered too little for the job. I received intel that Blackbeard will talk to the representative of the drug lords to strike a deal. If they reach an

agreement, Blackbeard will kill Professor Salce on the spot. If they fail to reach an agreement, Blackbeard will release Professor Salce.”
