Salute to the General novel Chapter 2839

By evening, Huey and the rest arrived at the cafeteria in Peacekeeping Forces' base along with Ava.

Under Huey's instructions, the cafeteria had prepared a grand meal for the warriors of the Peacekeeping Forces to dine with Ava as a form of gratitude for her guidance this time.

Since they were in the army and had no access to alcohol, everyone had Sprite as their beverage in substitution.

Huey raised his glass at Ava and laughed. “I'd like to thank Colonel

Quinn and General Dunne for their guidance this round. It's a pity General Dunne had to leave earlier and miss the opportunity to have a meal with us. I feel so bad for not being a good host!”

Ava lifted the corners of her lips into a faint smile. “Everybody here is working toward world peace. It's my pleasure to have the chance to interact with you guys and improve together. Please don't stand on ceremony, Mr. Gutierrez.”

Huey responded, “Sure!”

At this point, the soldiers around them stepped forward to propose a toast.

Likewise, Lucio, the representative of the Eurasian warriors, also approached while holding onto his glass of Sprite. “Ms. Quinn, on behalf of all the soldiers of Eurasia, let me offer you a toast to thank you for your guidance and training,” he said courteously.

Ava gladly lifted her glass of beverage and flashed a smile. “Thank you, everyone. Cheers!”

The banquet this round was, in fact, simple and shabby—the food was not exquisite, and neither were there drinks served. Yet, Ava was deeply touched by the crowd's enthusiasm, immense respect, and admiration for her.

She was especially delighted to find that those Eurasian warriors led by Lucio greeted her so respectfully and even treated her like their mentor and idol.

As night fell, the city lights lit up one by one.

The banquet finally came to an end as well.

Huey led the crowd and sent Ava out of the base personally.

“Mr. Gutierrez, I'm sure you have lots of work to do. You don't have to walk me down any further,” Ava pleasantly remarked.

A smile crept up Huey's face. “All right. In that case, I'll take my leave.”

With that said, he turned to Lucio and several Eurasian warriors and commanded, “Lucio, escort Colonel Quinn back. Make sure there are no hiccups.”
