Salute to the General novel Chapter 2856

Nathan and the rest arrived at Pegasus Club.

There were people who were holding up horizontal banners to welcome them. A middle-aged chubby man had also been waiting for their arrival with a large group of staff members for quite a while.

That middle-aged plump man was Fausto Loaker.

When Fausto saw Bryon, Max, Mueller, and the others, he beamed.

He then hurried over and uttered, “Greetings, President Bryon, Admiral Max, and Lord Mueller. Greetings to the other commanders and leaders as well. It is my utmost honor to have you grace your presence here!”

Bryon faked displeasure and said, “Fausto, we're accompanying Mr. Cross. Mr. Cross is your distinguished guest of the day. Moreover, I remember that you were a Eurasian before you received Ariarica's green card, right? Why aren't you greeting Mr. Cross, the new president of Eurasia then?”

Hearing that, Fausto began solemnly, “President Byron, I have to correct you on something. I've received my green card, so I'm no longer a citizen of Eurasia; I'm now a proper Ariarican. However, I will still welcome Mr. Cross with open arms.”

At that, he turned to Nathan and said, “Greetings, Mr. Cross.”

Nevertheless, the way he spoke to Nathan was not the same as the way he spoke to Bryon and the others—there was a lack of flattery and respect.

It was as if he was only emotionlessly going through the necessary steps by greeting Nathan.

Nathan even noticed that the banners they set up were not to welcome him but Bryon.

Evidently, Fausto only had eyes for his new nation's leader, Bryon; he no longer cared about Eurasia, the country that raised him.

After a glance at Fausto, Nathan muttered, “Greetings to you too. I've heard about you on the news, but I never thought that I'd see you here in person this time.”

Fausto froze before asking, “News? What news?”

Nathan coldly replied, “Negative ones.”

At that, Fausto turned a little pale.
