Nathan and the rest sat down at the neighboring table.
They then ordered some food and also half a dozen beers.
Without hesitation, Sevan grabbed a bottle of beer from the table and brought it to his mouth, ready to bite down on it.
This fellow must have teeth made from steel. He can even crush the bones in the drumsticks!
Worried that Sevan might devour the beer bottle, Nathan hurriedly reached out to stop him. He then grabbed his bottle and taught Sevan the right way to drink.
“Some things aren't edible. Come, let me teach you. You have to open the bottle and drink the contents in it.”
As much as Sevan was intellectually challenged, it did not take too long for him to understand the steps.
He expertly traced Nathan's actions, lifting his head and gulping down the beer.
The next second, his eyes lit up as he shrieked and danced in excitement.
It was obvious he had a tremendous liking for beer.
Seeing that, Nathan and the others burst into laughter.
The crowd around them also shot them strange looks.
Subsequently, Sevan reached out for his second bottle and began drinking. Catching sight of that, Nathan and the rest smiled and dug into their food.
Right then, Colin's phone vibrated. There was a text message.
Fishing out his phone, Colin glanced at his screen and inched closer to Nathan's ear. “That pair at the table next to ours knows you, Mr. Cross. The intelligence department of the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor has already run a check on their backgrounds and sent it to me. They're both officers from Interpol. The guy is called Haskell Dreyfuss, and the lady is Erin Whitehill. They're here to capture a corrupted official who absconded here.”
As it turned out, the two Interpol officers were here in secret to catch Sylvester Briggs, a corrupted official on the run.
Realization dawned upon Nathan.
No wonder there was an unfathomable glint in Haskell and Erin's gazes when they saw me coming in. They recognized that I'm the President of Eurasia!
He turned his head around to look at Haskell and Erin.
Coincidentally, Haskell and Erin were also staring at Nathan. As their eyes met, the two hastily straightened their backs and put a respectful look on their faces. The admiration for the man was overflowing from their gazes, along with their excitement at meeting him.
With a smile, Nathan bobbed his head slightly, both as a form of silent greeting and an affirmation of their hard work for coming all the way here to capture a corrupted official.
Nathan's appreciation for them made Haskell's and Erin's faces flush in immense jubilation.
Suddenly, the door to the bar was kicked open violently.
