With the agility of a gray fox, Nathan landed softly back on the ground while Niels' corpse came crashing down heavily at his feet.
To think that that mighty vampire earl would be vanquished by Nathan so easily.
Nathan had only just rid himself of Niels when he felt a presence approaching. Before he knew it, the silhouette had already arrived next to him. It turned out to be Sevan.
Sevan crouched before Nathan like a puppy with his head raised ingratiatingly. There was a smug look in his eyes, along with a hint of expectation, almost like he was seeking Nathan's approval.
It would seem that while Nathan was engaged in combat, Sevan had taken on and defeated four of the vampire fighters all on his own.
At that moment, he was akin to a hunting hound running up to its master in search of praise after successfully subduing its prey.
Nathan was himself surprised at Sevan's impressive display.
Colin and Kraven found it challenging to go up against these vampire fighters. Sevan, though, was not only able to take on four of them but also single-handedly managed to kill them all. His abilities are really quite extraordinary! He must have been a domineering fighter of some renown before he lost his memory and became reduced to a crazed animal.
Nathan reached out and straight up pulled Sevan onto his feet. “Don't do that, Sevan. As you're human too, do not behave like this again. Do you understand?” he said in earnest.
Sevan looked at Nathan, wide-eyed and somewhat mystified. He did not seem to be able to grasp what Nathan had just told him and did not come across as being very bright.
His eyes then abruptly lit up, as though Nathan's words suddenly made sense to him.
Nathan could not resist smiling at the sight of that. He was about to continue to instruct Sevan when the latter unexpectedly zipped off toward the vicinity where the bodies of the vampires he had killed had fallen.
Crack! Crack!
To the astonishment of all who were bearing witness, he started to butcher the vampires' bodies in front of them.
Nathan was left slack-jawed, as were Colin, Kraven, and the others.
After Sevan was through tearing the bodies to pieces, he ran over to Nathan to seek validation once more.
Flabbergasted, Nathan palmed his forehead and said, “I meant to tell you that you have to learn how to behave normally and live as a regular person should, not to mutilate the bodies after a kill. Who was it who inculcated these habits in you?”
