Queenie, who was being carried in Leah's arms, called out to Nathan, “Daddy!”
Nathan greeted his parents-in-law as they handed his daughter over to him and smiled at Queenie. “Hey, Queenie! Have you been a good girl?”
“Yes!” Queenie replied.
Nathan winked at her. “Guess what? I bought you some clothes and toys on my way back!”
He then turned toward Penny and continued, “I also bought Maisy the same gifts as Queenie. Have someone deliver them to the Woods residence later.”
Penny nodded. “Okay!”
It wasn't until they heard what Nathan said that the others recalled he had accepted Maisy as his goddaughter.
Maisy was the daughter of the former president, Garrett.
Garrett had entrusted Nathan with Maisy while he was sick, but his wife had refused to stay in Brimmopolis, so she had brought her back to their old house in the West.
Even so, Nathan still cared for Maisy and loved her as his own. He would always ensure that Maisy received the same gifts as Queenie.
On top of that, he would give Maisy a call every two weeks to catch up and help her out with whatever problems she had.
Everyone looked at Nathan with respect and admiration in their eyes.
Despite being the president of the country as well as the Chief Military Governor, Nathan had never neglected his duties as a father.
He was truly a man who valued both his career and his family.
With everyone escorting him, Nathan got into his car and made his way back to the White House.
