Salute to the General novel Chapter 3004

Nathan sighed.

Colin hesitated before asking softly, “Mr. Cross, shall I gather a team of elites and head off to Heavenly City for a rescue mission?”

Nathan shook his head slowly. “Mr. Macalister was considered a top elite. Yet, he has succumbed in Heavenly City. If I send any military elites or civilian fighters, they will die for sure. However, dispatching the Three Tigers will be abusing national resources. I will feel very guilty if any of the military fighters get hurt or killed because of me. That will be a great loss for our country too.”

Mr. Macalister

“So, should we put this matter on hold and deal with it later on?

“My master is probably being held captive in Heavenly City. Mr. Macalister has been killed. Hermes, Kerry's master is also being detained there. I can't sit back and do nothing about it.”

Colin was stunned. “So, what should we do?”

“I'll be on leave for the next couple of days. I intend to make a trip to Heavenly City in disguise,” Nathan responded with indifference.

His comment put Colin in a state of panic. “What?”

He was about to talk Nathan out of it when Nathan said softly, “Let's put other matters aside. At the very least, I have to bring Mr. Macalister's body back so that I can give him a proper burial.”

Colin was dumbfounded for a moment. Through gritted teeth, he said, “Even if that's the case, I can always take some men and go instead. President Cross, there is no need for you to take such a risk and venture there on your own. After all, you are the ruler of our nation. Should anything untoward—”

“I may be the ruler of our nation, but you mustn't forget that I'm still the God of War of Eurasia. I'm no weakling. In fact, I have survived countless battles. I will always be who I am. There's no way that a change in my position will turn me into a coward. Furthermore, Heavenly City is filled with powerful warriors. Even Mr. Macalister has met a tragic end. I don't feel good about you going there.”

Shame was written all over Colin's face. He said with his head bowed, “President Cross, as your subordinate, I feel ashamed that I'm unable to share your burdens.”
