“Ah!” Lambert let out a guttural scream.
However, he was a vampire prince and his life tenacity was strong. He still did not die and continued resisting Nathan.
Nathan did not hold back. He immediately followed up with a backhand to Lambert's face and he stumbled backward—he was all dizzy and bloodied.
Nathan seized the opportunity to easily capture a dazed and confused Lambert.
Not too far away, Gerart, still fighting against Wolfric and the other elite humans, was shocked and enraged when he saw that Nathan had defeated Lambert.
What shocked him was how easily Nathan had captured Lambert. Although Lambert, the new vampire prince, was not as strong as the old princes, he was still one of the strongest in the clan.
What enraged him was how Nathan had dared to bring such violence to their territory.
He snarled, annoyed and angry, and forcefully pushed the human warriors away. Then, he turned and rushed toward Nathan.
Nathan held the dying Lambert under his left arm and his sword with his right hand. He fearlessly parried with Gerart single-handedly.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Nathan blocked Gerart's onslaughts of attack. Then, he struck Gerart with the flat of the sword, forcing him to stumble. While Gerart was trying to find his footing, Nathan handed the unconscious Lambert over to Wolfric and the others. “Watch over this one, and handle the vampires who are coming to provide back-up! I'm going to capture Gerart alive.”
The fight between the humans and the vampires had attracted the attention of the other vampire masters in the presidential palace and even the entire Kushburn.
Many of the vampire masters were already descending on the scene to join the battle.
No matter how reckless Wolfric and the others were, they had now come to their senses. Nathan was their strongest warrior. If they wanted to emerge victorious, they would have to stick to Nathan.
“Yes, Commander Cross!” Wolfric shouted in reply.
He ordered several men to take charge of Lambert. Then, he led the rest of the men to intercept the vampires who had come to join the battle.
Gerart and Nathan stood facing each other, separated by a short distance.
Gerart smirked and said smugly, “Your combat skills are truly something to behold. Even the masters of the Curia cannot compare to you. However, you shouldn't have come here. Your location has been exposed. This city is full of vampires, and you are surrounded on all sides. If you wish to live, I advise you to give up the fight and join our clan. Think about it, Nathan! If you join forces with us, the whole world will be ours! You will be the father of all humanity. Wouldn't that be amazing?”
“We are not the same. We will never be on the same side. I have no interest in your grand plans to take over the world,” Nathan replied coldly. “In fact, I see you as the source of the disaster which I must get rid of quickly.”
Realizing that he had failed to win Nathan over, Gerart turned his face away and said, “If you want to be so stubborn, then you will go to the pits of hell and spend eternity in regret!”
After that, he launched a strike at Nathan.
“You're the one who will be going to hell to meet Hades,” Nathan retorted coldly. “If you can survive my sword, then I'll take you back with me alive. If you can't, then this will be the end of your life.”
Nathan raised his sword.
His sword began to vibrate and sing.
A powerful burst of energy emanated from Nathan. It swept through the hall, hitting Gerart the hardest.
Gerart's head spun, and he began hallucinating.
Nathan and the battle scene around him disappeared from his vision.
Instead, he was shocked to find himself in a majestic, Aploth-style palace.
Around him stood ten enormous demon-gods.
Crowns sat atop their heads, and they were all dressed in regalia and holding their official weapons. The demon gods looked down at him from their towering height.
This is Hades' realm! These are the Ten Princes of Hell! The ones from the Eurasian legend!
Nathan's voice sounded next to his ear, “This is Hades' realm. Good luck in making it through!”
The voice faded away.
The Ten Princes of Hell roared in unison and raised their weapons.
Gerart let out an animalistic cry and struggled to desperately resist the onslaught of demon gods.
