Although there were many vampires in Kushburn, Wolfric and his companions still managed to escape successfully. After all, each member of Wolfric's team possessed remarkable strength, and the incident happened so suddenly that the vampires within Kushburn did not have time to react. Wolfric and his group effortlessly fought their way out. Wolfric successfully made it out. Colin and Sevan both expressed to wait for Nathan. Wolfric became furious.
“You two should take a look at where we are. It's already a stroke of luck that we managed to break through the perimeter.”
“Right now, the most important thing is to leave with these two vampire princes. If you want to wait for Nathan, you two can stay behind and wait.” After saying that, he ordered the team to leave. Just then, a figure swiftly approached amidst the darkness in the distance. It turned out Nathan had come out as well.
Colin and Sevan were overjoyed when they saw Nathan. They both went up to greet him and pay their respects. Nathan waved his hand.
“No need for formalities.” Wolfric did not expect Nathan to make it out so quickly. Though he acted all high and mighty in front of Colin and Sevan, he was just like a mouse encountering a cat in front of Nathan. The insufferably arrogant demeanor disappeared in an instant and was replaced with a flattering smile.
“Commander Cross, you've made it out too! This is great. I've been worried about you all this time.” Nathan glanced at the guy and asked, “Is that so? You didn't seem to want to wait for me or care whether I lived or die just now.” Upon hearing this, Wolfric shuddered and quickly replied, “That's not what I meant. I just felt that the heavy responsibility of the mission has fallen on my shoulders with you gone. I must complete the task and not let you down...” Nathan looked at Wolfric with a smile but said nothing.
Wolfric felt a chill down his spine as he was being watched. He had already experienced Nathan's terrifying power firsthand. With Nathan's overwhelming strength, Wolfric no longer dared to challenge or act arrogantly toward him. He feared Nathan would become angry and resort to using force instead of reasoning with him. However, Nathan truly had no intention of stooping to his level. After Nathan gave Wolfric goosebumps by looking at him, Nathan said nonchalantly, “Let's go. This is not a place where we can stay for long.” Wolfric, feeling as if he had been pardoned, repeated, “Yes, yes. Let's hurry up and leave this dreadful place.” Nathan and his group hurriedly left. Not long after, Kushburn completely exploded. The vampires throughout the city who were alerted swarmed out, relentlessly pursuing Nathan and his companions.
Yet, the vampires did not manage to catch up with Nathan and his group. Instead, they killed several bounty hunters lurking in the area, scaring all the local bounty hunters into hiding in various underground shelters. No one dared to show their faces anymore. Inside the Nightfire Underground City. Shadow Widow and the others were also shocked, as it was rare to see such a large-scale operation by the vampires recently. Shadow Widow was curious and muttered to herself, “What on earth did Mr. Cross and his people do after sneaking into Kushburn? How did they manage to drive hundreds of thousands of vampires in the city insane?” The people around her all had bewildered expressions on their faces. At that moment, Sean hurried in from outside, excitedly saying, “I have the latest news!”
“I heard Mr. Cross and his party secretly entered Kushburn and initially intended to capture Prince Max,” Sean explained.
“Who would have thought Prince Max would be absent and they'd run into the newly ascended vampire princes, Lambert and Gerart?”
“Mr. Cross and his group actually managed to capture Lambert and Gerart alive and even fought their way out of Kushburn. That's why the vampires in Kushburn have gone completely mad and are hunting them down everywhere,” said Sean.
What? Shadow Widow and the others were stunned. Even the mercenaries and bounty hunter leaders drinking in the scene were utterly dumbfounded. Mathews could not help but ask, “Who exactly is this Mr. Cross?”
Indeed. Such an incredible person couldn't be a nobody. So, who exactly is Mr. Cross? Everyone wondered. At this moment, Shadow Widow inadvertently noticed an old newspaper on the table next to her. These newspapers had all made their way into the vampire-occupied territory from the outside world.
They were mostly outdated newspapers, and printed news was already a thing of the past. However, a photo in this newspaper caught Shadow Widow's attention. The image featured a group photo of several Hundred Nations God of War Alliance commanders. Standing in the central position was the commander-in-chief of the alliance and the God of War, Nathan. Shadow Widow looked at the photo of Nathan. As if enlightenment struck her, she immediately connected it with the image of Mr. Cross wearing a warrior mask in her mind. Her body shuddered, and she exclaimed, “I know who Mr. Cross is!”
