Salute to the General novel Chapter 325

When Yoel saw that it was Thomas, he scoffed, "I was wondering who it was. Turns out it's you. Last time, you were lucky enough to escape with your life. You dare appear before me again? I'll make sure I finish the job this time!"

With that, he got ready to kill Thomas on the spot.

Before he could, Carl shouted, "Yoel, stop! We don't kill the messenger. Since Cross has sent Dunn here, if news got out that I had him killed, it would ruin my reputation."

Shooting a disdainful look at Thomas, he asked, "So why did Cross send you here?"

"Master knows that you're here, so he purposely sent me over, with a gift for you," Thomas answered.

Carl narrowed his eyes. "A gift?"

Lifting the rolled-up artwork in his hands, Thomas declared, "This painting!"

Yoel approached him to take the painting, scrutinizing it carefully to check for any

danger.

Confirming that there was none, he handed it over to Carl.

Done with his mission, Thomas turned to leave.

The Eighteen Hounds moved to stop him, but Carl stopped them. "Let him go. Dunn, tell Cross that even with this gift, I won't show him any mercy. He should be settling his affairs in preparation for his death. If he's willing to hand over Cross Group unconditionally, I can promise him that I'll let his family live, even after he dies."

Thomas remained silent and continued on his way.

Carl waited until Thomas was out of his sight before he focused his attention on the scroll in his hands.

Handing it over to two men, he uttered smugly, "Open it up. I can't wait to see what kind of painting Cross hopes to butter me up with."

Sean and the others guffawed, "Trying to appease you at the last minute, what a coward! Too bad for him that it's too late!"

The two underlings slowly unrolled the artwork.
