Salute to the General novel Chapter 3253

Chazley hadn't got the chance to explain to Digby. He looked around and repeatedly asked, “Where's Commander Cross?”

Commander Cross?

Digby froze when he heard this and instinctively pointed at Nathan while enquiring, “General Chazley, you're not telling me that this imposter here is the commander-in-chief you're talking about, are you?”

Chazley's gaze followed where Digby was pointing and spotted Nathan. Others might not know who Nathan was, but Chazley had the opportunity to see Nathan in person when he attended a conference in the past. Although Nathan wore the most ordinary combat uniform and a warrior mask, Chazley immediately recognized him. The man standing before the latter was none other than the commander-in-chief of the Hundred Nations Alliance and the God of War, Nathan Cross. Chazley's face lit up with delight as he hurried forward, stood at attention, and saluted. “It's an honor to meet you, Commander Cross.”

The officers behind Chazley also saluted in unison. “Greetings, Commander Cross.”

The soldiers of Steel Wings that surrounded the two stared blankly at one another and then quickly realized what was happening. They immediately stood at attention and raised their hands in salute. “Greetings, Commander Cross.”

The scene left Digby completely dumbfounded. His face turned pale instantly, and he broke out in cold sweat. His heart began to sink, and despair started to set in. Digby's mind was filled with only one thought, He really is the commander-in-chief of the alliance...He really is... Nathan regarded Chazley coldly.

“So you're Chazley of Daprein, the commander of Steel Wings?” Chazley noticed Nathan's indifferent expression and cold tone, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He instinctively replied, “Yes, I am, Commander Cross!”

After he answered, he cautiously asked, “Commander Cross, did my subordinates do something wrong that upset you?”

As soon as he said this, Chazley realized it himself.

Just now, when I was asking where Commanded Cross was, Digby mentioned something about an imposter...

Chazley's face darkened instantly, and he glared at Digby with a murderous gaze. “Colonel Digby, you'd better explain what happened.”

Digby's expression was awful, but he dared not hide anything before Nathan. He had no choice but to recount the whole story in detail. After Digby recounted the events, he immediately went down on his knees, his face full of grief as he begged for mercy, “General Chazley, I really didn't know he's Commander Cross! His troop passed by not long ago, so I thought he was an imposter, which led to my disrespect. I hope you will take this into consideration.”

Chazley never expected his subordinates would make such a huge blunder, even going so far as to offend the commander-in-chief of the alliance. He cursed Digby in his heart before reprimanding sternly, “What's the use of apologizing to me? You should be apologizing and begging for mercy from Commander Cross. If he doesn't forgive you, I'll finish you off personally.”

Digby hurriedly crawled toward Nathan, apologizing and begging for mercy. Colin, Shadow Widow, and others with Nathan looked at Digby with disdain. Nathan said coldly, “Now you realize your mistake. Where has your arrogance gone from earlier?”

Digby apologized, “Please forgive me, Commander Cross. Please forgive me...”

Nathan continued indifferently, “I can let you off for insulting me. That's a small matter. But how do you explain your troops persecuting civilians in the vampire-occupied territory and extorting money from passing bounty hunters?” Digby's face was ashen. He could only apologize repeatedly and promised never to do it again.

Nathan turned to face Chazley, who was standing beside him with a guilty expression and shifty eyes. He asked coldly, “Chazley, is this common?”
