The next morning, Penny left for work while Queenie was sent to kindergarten. Benson and Leah had also gone off somewhere together, which left Nathan alone at home.
Colin and Thomas came to report the events of last night.
Colin went first, saying, "Carl made some huge waves last night. He sent men to come after your family, sir, but thankfully the Elite Eight managed to get rid of them.
Thomas added, "He deliberately left Zachary Schulz and Howard Ortiz alive but killed all of their bodyguards. Despite that, they were also heavily injured and are now in the hospital."
Colin continued, "Carl purposely went after the people around you first, sir. It's obvious he's trying to cut off all your support and leave you wallowing in fear and grief."
"He's practically begging to be killed at this point." Thomas sneered.
In a calm tone, Nathan stated, "Zachary and Howard were injured only because they sided with me. Send some men over to visit them and let them know that I'll seek justice for them."
"Yes, sir!"
His phone rang just as he finished talking.
Checking the caller ID, he saw that it was Leah.
Accepting the call, her panicked voice immediately blared out from the speakers, "Nathan, something terrible has happened!"
Taken aback at her words, he asked, "Mum, what is it?”
Anxiety throbbed in her voice when she replied, "Benson and I were headed over to Juno Hotel because we thought that we could have breakfast with Kylie, Hank, and Prudence. We'd arrived just in time to see a group of fierce-looking men drag them away!" "Kylie and her parents were abducted?'
Nathan frowned.
He could hear how she sniffled through her tears, "Yeah! I didn't know what else to do, so I thought that calling you would be best."
