As usual, Penny held the weekly meeting with the heads of departments the next morning.
The director of the quality inspection department only made her way into the conference room halfway through the meeting.
Penny furrowed her brows and expressed her concerns, "Sharon, the conference today is extremely important. Why are you late?. Are you not feeling well?"
Usually, Sharon would try to please Penny whenever she had the chance. However, she behaved arrogantly recently as though she had turned into another person.
She held her chest high and rebutted, "You're the one who's not feeling well! In fact, your whole family is sick!"
The heads of departments in the conference room were taken aback by Sharon's words.
Penny looked at Sharon in disbelief as well.
Even Penny's secretary, Jenny, couldn't hold back her rage. "Ms. Hinton, please mind your manners! How dare you utter such words to President Smith?”
In return, Sharon sneered, "Ha! Who do you think you are, Jenny? Since I'm here to tender my resignation today, Penny will no longer be my boss, and I no longer have to entertain any one of you!"
As Penny listened to Sharon's words, she looked at her in confusion and asked, "What's wrong with you, Sharon? Why are you resigning?”
Sharon replied arrogantly, "Duh... Because I'm rich! Besides, I'll be joining Blue Sky Corporation as the vice general manager soon."
It was yet another shocking revelation to Penny and the heads of departments because they didn't expect her to join Blue Sky Corporation.
Penny's eyes were filled with conflicted emotions as she looked at Sharon, but she replied calmly, "Congratulations, Sharon. If that's your final call, I'll respect your decision. I'm glad that you have been promoted as the vice general manager of Blue Sky Corporation."
Sharon replied disdainfully, "Of course! I mean, what else can you do apart from congratulating me? You can't possibly stop me, right? My annual income is merely five hundred thousand when I'm attached to Cross Group. However, Mr. Johnson has offered me an annual income of two million as long as I join Blue Sky Corporation. Do you really think I'll stay behind because of our so-called friendship?"
When the words left Sharon's mouth, Penny's face turned pale as she couldn't believe that Sharon actually uttered such harsh words without holding back.
Jenny could no longer suppress her anger. She yelled in return, "Sharon, have you no shame? Have you forgotten who helped you when you needed financial support the most? You couldn't even afford your rental because you were unemployed back then." "President Smith was the one who gave you this job, and she was even kind enough to offer you an annual income of five hundred thousand! It doesn't matter that you're joining our competitor's company, but how could you say such things about President Smith? Have you no conscience?"
