The executives lowered their heads in complete silence.
Kayden Cook was an infamous scoundrel who had many connections and was known for raising a bunch of vicious thugs.
Nobody dared to collect money from him.
Not to mention, this money was for the company. Nobody was willing to risk their lives to collect cash that didn't belong to them.
The production manager, Benson Smith, noticed that his daughter, Penny was furious at the situation.
He stood up and said, "President Smith, why not let me have a shot?"
This caught Penny by surprise. "Dad, are you sure?" She whispered to him.
Benson chuckled, "I was a sales manager back then, so I often dealt with distributors. I can still figure out what they're thinking. Let me talk to Kayden
Cook. Perhaps I might be able to get the money back."
Seeing as there were no other volunteers, Penny had no choice but to agree. "Alright. Don't force yourself, dad. It would be great if you were able to collect the money, but don't worry if he doesn't pay. We'll figure something out."
"Okay!" Benson smiled.
That morning, Benson drove to the Evergreen company carrying a briefcase to look for Kayden Cook.
Penny had just walked into the CEO's office in the afternoon when her assistant Jenny rushed in. "President Smith, there's been a major problem! The production manager, Benson Smith, was beaten up by Kayden Cook's men when he went to collect the money!" She reported frantically.
"What did you say? My dad was beaten up?" Penny's voice cracked.
Jenny spoke with difficulty, "Yes. Not only did Kayden Cook not repay his debts, but he also even condoned his subordinates to beat up Mr. Smith.”
"Where is my father now? How are his injuries?" Penny questioned, her expression visibly distraught.
"Mr. Smith's only sustained minor injuries, all of which are flesh wounds. He's tending to his wounds in the production manager's office right now," Jenny responded quickly.
Penny immediately rushed to the production manager's office floor and arrived outside of Benson's office when she heard this.
Benson's frail voice resonated from behind the door, "Who is it? Come in."
Penny brought Jenny along and opened the door. As soon as she stepped inside the office, she was greeted with Benson's bruised and battered face.
