Salute to the General novel Chapter 613

John continued shamelessly, "Impossible, your boss gave me such an expensive bottle of red wine. How could he not know me?"

The manager replied expressionlessly, "Sorry, I've already confirmed with my boss that this red wine is for Mr. Cross here. No one said this was for you. You're too full of yourself."

Huh? For Nathan?

John's eyes widened and his face fell...

Oh my gosh, that was humiliating!

John wanted to find a hole he could bury his head into.

The manager suggested seriously, "Mr. Caulkin, could it be possible that my boss had accidentally forgotten your name? Maybe you should tell me how you're related to him so that I can jog his memory!"

That was a vicious blow to John.

He could feel his face burning from the shame!

If it were not for the fact that he had loved Kylie so much, he would have stormed off.

He spat, "No need. If he doesn't remember me, then so be it! I have lots of friends all over the nation. One person won't affect me!"

The manager shot him a look of despise. Just be honest and admit that you don't know him! Stop acting so pretentiously, you unreasonable man.

He ignored John and offered Nathan's family a small bow. He said respectfully, "Mr. Cross, please call me if anything crops up. I won't be disturbing you from your meal.”

Nathan nodded and the manager left.

John stared at Nathan with a complex expression and commented, "So Mr. Cross is friends with Thomas Dunn and he respects you so much that he can just give such an expensive wine away."

Nathan smiled, "It's nothing much."

John was fuming. If this is nothing, then aren't you implying that I'm less than nothing to you? Is that what you're trying to say?

At the same time, he noticed that Kylie shot a look of despise at him and knew that he had messed up earlier.
