When Penny heard that, she was shocked. Indeed, they came to Northania to look for suitable business partners.
The Cross Group wouldn't not collaborate with weak companies.
However, powerful people, such as the CEOs of large corporations or wealthy bosses, were all extremely cunning and greedy. As Cross Group was from the South, they bullied them and raised a lot of harsh terms.
Hence, all of Penny's recent meetings with the CEOs of large corporations turned out futile.
Never did she expect the tables would be turned.
Nathan actually told him that there would be a lot of CEOs tomorrow begging to collaborate with them.
Filled with delight and surprise, she asked Nathan, "Hubby, are you telling the truth?"
He replied with a smile, "Of course. I've never lied to you, right?"
Instantly, Penny was overjoyed and extremely excited.
At that moment, Nathan's phone rang. It was a call from Colin.
"What is it?"
Colin replied, "General, Xander's eldest granddaughter, Julia, wishes to see you. She's begging you to forgive the Lanes and spare her grandpa."
"I won't see her."
Colin answered curtly, "Yes, sir!"
Nathan hung up the call. However, after a few minutes, Colin called him again.
When Nathan picked up the call, he said unhappily, "Didn't I say that I don't want to meet anyone from the Lanes?"
Colin said softly, Tve already relayed your message to Julia. However, she refuses to leave. She's kneeling outside the Four
Seasons Hotel now. She said that if you're unwilling to meet her, she'll continue kneeling until she dies."
Nathan frowned. "Let her keep kneeling, then!"
He ended the call again.
Penny and Kylie asked curiously, "What's the matter, Nathan?"
With a slight frown, he said, "The Lanes are panicking after what happened at the wedding. Julia, Xander's granddaughter, wishes to meet us and beg for our forgiveness. She wants us to put in a good word with the mayor, so he would release her grandpa."
Kylie scoffed, "Aren't they extremely wealthy and smug? They're only begging for forgiveness after something bad happens. They aren't sincere at all!"
Penny walked toward the French windows and looked at the streets below.
Indeed, she saw an elegant and pretty girl kneeling at the hotel entrance.
Many passers-by stopped. They talked about the girl amongst themselves. That girl was none other than Julia Lane.
