He rubbed his lower jaw, and there was a solemnity in his gaze. “While his price quotation is false, it’s also of the utmost sincerity. It's obvious he really cares about the North Courts’ land development rights."
I clasped my hands together and looked at Nibel's rarely-ever serious expression as I fell into deep thought.
Even Nibel had said so. I had no reason not to believe in Silas' determination.
Moving my clasped hands under my chin, I slowly asked, "What could be the reason for Silas' determination?"
"Why should you care about that as long as you achieve your goal?" Nibel spread his hands with a look of indifference.
He was not wrong. I was just curious. Although North Courts’ land was good and it would be a pity to miss it, there were other better lands waiting for him to bid on. Why was he so insistent on North Courts?
The more I thought about it, the more confused I was. Before me, Nibel could obviously tell my doubts. "Sometimes, I really do think you women are so complicated. You try to force clarity on something that has none. Isn't it enough just to achieve your goal?"
"You don't understand."
"Men naturally don't understand women's hearts. Like Delia. She already got Theo now but still wants to burrow into Grant Corporation and grab a hold of their shares. She never knows when is enough."
Nibel knew about this too?
I put aside my thoughts about Yard Group in the meantime and turned my attention to Delia trying to enter Grant Corporation. "Was that her own idea?"
