"Mom, Dad, I'm back."
Petra and Grayson were both shocked when I showed up at their doorstep alone with the children.
"Why did you come here alone? Where's Theo?" they questioned me as they carried my luggage in.
I could not tell them what was going on for now to prevent rumors.
"He's been busy with the company recently, so I thought I'd come back and rest a few days."
"Good, good. It's fine even if you stay longer."
Having not seen each other in a long time, Petra’s and Grayson's smiles never once diminished. They were even happier when they saw their grandchildren.
"It's not the weekend yet, so Munchkin is still at school. I'll go pick him up once the weekend comes."
"You must be hungry. Let me get someone to make breakfast."
We had left the mansion early in the morning and did not eat any breakfast. Sure enough, I was hungry. "Alright, thanks, Mom."
Petra pulled me to the sofa and sat me down. Grayson, on the other hand, was standing to the side as he tended to the children.
"Have you been very busy recently? You look like you’ve lost so much weight."
I touched my face when I heard that before waving my hand and replying, "Oh, I haven't. I'm still the same. You just haven't seen me in some time. I'll stay here longer so you can fatten me up and send me back to Theo."
Home was always warm. At this moment, there was a current of warmth traveling through my heart.
"By the way, are the Yards still troubling you?"
It was unusual that Petra was still thinking about this.
I shook my head. "No, it's strange, but they really haven't made much of a move during this time."
